An Alachua County man was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years probation Tuesday for hitting and killing a man last year.

Robert Duncan ran over Daniel Farmer while intoxicated on Millhopper road last year. Prosecutors are dropping two charges against the driver, but the State Attorney is still pursuing a charge of vehicular homicide.

Alachua County got its first scenic road designation since 2004 — the county's sixth overall — Tuesday, with Micanopy's Tuscawilla Road.
