heading to the west coast of florida. it is the storm surge that will be significantly damaging and life threatening for this storm. at least 3.5 metres, and many towns and cities across the west coast are only about a metre across above sea level so we will keep you posted on the developments. closer to home, today has been a showery one and the weather front has brought rain towards the south west. elsewhere we ve seen sharp showers pushing on across the north and eastern coast and some of them have been heavy at times. the showers will start to fade away in land and the rain across the south west will gradually drift towards the end of cornwall and across the isles of scilly but the northerly wind is keeping showers across the far north coast, but in land where we had clear skies, temperatures are likely to fall away so it will be a chilly start, low single figures for some of you first thing tomorrow but on the whole the winds will ease a touch after a blustery d ....
