(Murfreesboro, TN) -  The City Schools Foundation distributed over $62,000 in grants to teachers in October with an additional $5,000 grant for indigent care. Thirty-three grants were selected for funding for the 2022-23 school year. Full- and part-time teachers in the Murfreesboro City School district will receive a one-time, non-recurring 2% raise in May, according to a motion passed by the school board at its regular meeting last Tuesday. In January, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation to provide the raise for BEP-funded instructional positions and some other certified positions for the Jan. 1-June 30, 2021, time period.
