Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS) will host a teacher recruitment fair from 9:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday, February 12 at Scales Elementary School located at 2340 St. Andrews Drive in Murfreesboro. Simultaneously, MCS will host a virtual job fair for individuals unable to attend in person. Full- and part-time teachers in the Murfreesboro City School district will receive a one-time, non-recurring 2% raise in May, according to a motion passed by the school board at its regular meeting last Tuesday. In January, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation to provide the raise for BEP-funded instructional positions and some other certified positions for the Jan. 1-June 30, 2021, time period.
