Objective: This integrative review sought to identify and synthesise quantitative and qualitative evidence on barriers to pain management in adult intensive care units (ICUs). Background: Pain is experienced by 58% of adult ICU patients, which leads to consequences such as decreased healing and delirium. Managing pain effectively is an integral part of the critical care nurse's role. Methods: An integrative review was conducted based on Whittemore and Knafl's approach. Peer-reviewed research articles were sourced from five databases. Included articles were limited to those published in English and Arabic. The quality of included papers was evaluated using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Identified barriers to pain management in adult ICUs were mapped onto the components of the COM-B model. Social prescribing of nature therapy “green social prescribing” facilitates access to local nature-based activities that improve biopsychosocial wellbeing outcomes, are affordable, accessible, and can be adapted to context. These are becoming increasingly popular and gray literature is emerging, however, peer-reviewed scientific evidence is exiguous. This scoping review aimed to identify and critique peer-reviewed evidence for green social prescribing interventions and develop recommendations for research and clinical practice. Included studies were published in peer-reviewed journals in English on/after 1 January 2000. Participants were community-living adults with mental illness; Intervention was any green social prescribing program; Comparator was not restricted/required; Outcomes were any biopsychosocial measures; and any/all Study Designs were included. "Adjustment to an Ostomy: An Integrative Literature Review" by Julia Kittscha, Greg Fairbrother et al.

This integrative literature review summarizes recent literature relating to patient adjustment to stoma. The search strategy included 5 databases (CINAHL Plus, PsychINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, and MEDLINE); 65 articles meeting criteria were retrieved. Eleven were removed as duplicates, and a further 29 were removed when read in full, yielding 25 elements. Three were randomized controlled trials; 2 were prospective descriptive studies; 15 were cross-sectional descriptive studies; and 5 were qualitative studies. The quality of studies was evaluated using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). The calculated mean quality score was 97%, and no studies were excluded on quality grounds. Limited evidence suggests that adjustment occurs over time and provides some insight concerning how rehabilitation leads to resumption of an altered normality. Appropriate discharge planning ensures ongoing care to mitigate the long-term impact of injuries and chronic conditions. However, First Nations peoples in Australia face ongoing barriers to aftercare. This systematic review will locate and analyse global evidence of discharge interventions that have been implemented to improve aftercare and enhance health outcomes among First Nations people with an injury or chronic condition. A systematic search will be conducted using five databases, Google, and Google scholar. Global studies published in English will be included. We will analyse aftercare interventions implemented and the health outcomes associated. Two independent reviewers will screen and select studies and then extract and analyse the data.
