The vaccine was received through the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Assess Facility (COVAX). COVAX, an initiative co-led by the Vaccine Alliance, GAVI and the World Health Organisation seeks to ensure equitable access to a COVID – 19 vaccine by dividing about two billion doses across 92 low-and middle-income countries. Nigeria is the third African country to benefit from the COVAX facility after Ghana and Ivory Coast. The COVID – 19 vaccines arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard the Boeing 777 300 ER aircraft of the Emirates Airline at 11.45am.
COVID19 vaccination: Nasarawa begins training of 300 health workers On By David Odama Nasarawa State government has commenced the training of over 300 health workers ahead of the arrival of the vaccine in the state. The training of the health workers is to engaged and equipped them on the modalities of administering the vaccination of residents against the COVID -19 pandemic.
