"Just the response was beautiful," volunteer Randy Beard says. "It made me feel good that the community came together like that."
"Everyone is coming together," one shelter volunteer said. "This is the time when community is supposed to come together and that's exactly what's been happening."
Kari Morissette, executive director of the Church of Safe Injection, died last month at 33. She was a powerhouse advocate for those who use drugs and helping others in need gave her purpose.
