Election is a sense of growing confidence about the economy. that is not translated in to increased approval ratings or for that matter even a sense that the country is on the right track. that is rooted in personal judgments about the president. gallup for example came out with ratings year long summary of their polling and all 50 states. he was at 42% or below approval in eight states that he won. that is a that is a ominous number for republicans but it s a very personal judgment and i think the fact that, what was happening kind of outside the room yesterday with mitch mcconnell saying no need to protect bob mueller and with paul ryan saying we need to cleanse the fbi, republicans on the hill have dropped the earlier posture and some independents have moved in to a reflexive position to defend the president and the issue of whether you believe, whether voters believe they will provide any meaningful check on a president that 55, 60% of ....
There s still a disparity there that is unconsciousable in a mond modern economy. we can could argue about the numbers all day long. but the reaction was positive. the poll to the president s speech, 48% was very positive. 22% somewhat positive. and 29% negative. you look at the economy numbers, it s almost like the chart of all of those going up and the chart of the president s approval rating are just, a mirror image. how does the president turn it around? well, historic. right. so, that is the point that was made. you have this historic disconnect between the assessments of the economy and the assessments of the president and those are the twin forces, i think, that are contending to shape 2018. on the one hand, as i said, i agree, the biggest asset republicans have in the 2018 ....
