Maryland Legislative Black Caucus Seeks Yearly Funding For State's Lone Land-Grant HBCU
The Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland wants to ensure that the state’s land-grant HBCUs receive equitable funding. The organization is advocating for a yearly budget for the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, according to WYPR. It is part of a more comprehensive legislative advocacy work ahead of the 2024 session of the Maryland General Assembly.

Dr. Ivory Toldson, former executive director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, will be the keynote speaker at Lincoln University of Missouri’s 2024 Founders’ Day celebration on February 8. The 2024 Founders’ Day address will take place on Thursday, February 8 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium.
