You had such a unified, large scale protest movement. and what we see now is a government under abdelmadjid tebboune that rhetorically at least endorses the hirak. it says that it aligns itself with the hirak s demand for greater democracy and for a fuller, more prosperous future that is more equal. but, of course, you know, within the opposition and within the hirak movement itself, there s still a lot of criticism and a lot of impatience with the fact that there hasn t been enough progress. one of the notable things that we saw in the hirak movement is how much resonance there was back to the 60 years back to the independence movement, the slogans, the values, the messaging was very much this revolution that we carried out against the french. it s still unfinished, and we still have to make and create the algeria that our forefathers fought for. ....
