NEW DELHI: After the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Andhra Pradesh government in the Supreme Court against the State High Court order in the three capitals’ issue, a writ petition was filed in the apex court on Friday, seeking implementation of the Sivaramakrishnan Committee recommendations on identifying the capital of Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation. YS Jagan Declares Vizag as the Capital of Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been keen to shift the capital from Amaravati to Vizag but the plan received several hurdles. The government of AP was criticized badly but YS Jagan was strong on his move.

YS Jagan Announces Change In Three Capital Plan: After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the newly formed state had Amaravati as the capital. Soon after YSRCP took charge in the state, Amaravati was ignored and three capital plan was announced. After facing so many hurdles legally and politically, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh announced the change of plans.

The state Cabinet conducted an emergency meeting and cleared the Repeal Bill to be introduced in the Legislature, government sources said.
