With over 60,000 MSRTC staffers being part of the Sadavarte's union, a huge number of staffers is being expected to join the strike and as a result the state transport service could be affected.
In Satara, a person had filed a police complaint alleging that Sadavarte used objectionable words on a TV channel during the Maratha reservation agitations in 2020, the official said.
On Friday, the Gamdevi police arrested 110 protesters, including 23 women and advocate Sadavarte, for rioting outside Pawar’s residence. As many as 104 persons were arrested from the Malabar Hill area immediately after the incident, whereas six others were arrested later in the night, police said.
According to the police, the protesters were stopped by security when they tried to enter the premises, which led to the protesters allegedly turning violent and breaking the security barricades.
