Economist Gita Gopinath, first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will headline the Susan Bies Lecture on Economics and Public Policy at Northwestern University at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 25.

The 49-year-old prominent Indian-American economist Gita Gopinath will return back to prestigious Harvard University’s Economics Department.
Gita Gopinath, IMF’s Chief Economist and Director of the Research Department, intends to leave the Fund in January 2022 and return to Harvard University’s Economics Department as planned when her public service leave ends.
