Telemundo unveils Hispanic upfront slate with 1,000 hours of original content

Aiming to capture the current US Latino audience across every screen, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has unveiled its 2021-2022 programming line-up which it says will bolster its position as the leading multiplatform content creator for today’s Latino.
The new slate offers 1,000 hours of original scripted and unscripted content and encompasses sporting events and trusted news. This says Telemundo will shape a new era in Hispanic media with culture-centric narratives that meaningfully engage marketers with the full spectrum of Latino audiences across every screen.
At the head of the new season’s line-up are two original Super Series including the return of ratings powerhouse La Reina del Sur for its third season (pictured), and Malverde: El Santo Patron, said to be the network’s first-ever period drama Super Series. Also premiering is Diario de un Gigoló, a story about an unexpected and complicated love; an all-new dramedy, Parient ....

Orange Smarty invests in brand new slate of doc series

Independent multiplatform factual content distributor Orange Smarty has acquired a slate of new content through a string of development-stage investment deals with new and existing producer partners.
Leading the new offer is a new relationship with Whitworth Media brings history and engineering series Inside the Spitfire Factory (6 x 60’ - pictured) to the Orange Smarty slate. Produced for and currently on air on Channel 4, led by a cast of wonderful characters, this observational documentary series follows engineers, pilots and historians as they restore rusty remains of the iconic Second World War flying machines.
Two more new producer relationships, meanwhile, will result in two new true-crime series, both scheduled for release in the first half of 2021. The first is a distribution partnership with Brown Bob Productions on The Moment of Proof (15 x 30’), which after a successful January 2021 TX is said to have performed consistent ....
