KARACHI: The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the controversial census of 2017 has shown 47.8 million population of the province of Sindh whereas its population, as per UNICEF survey, stands at 61.04 million
“If the population is counted 61.04 million (in the census), the share of the province in the national resources would rise from about 24 percent to 29 percent, ” said CM Murad Ali Shah while addressing a press conference here at CM House on Wednesday. He was accompanied by provincial ministers Nasir Shah, Taimur Talpur and Murtaza Wahab.
The CM Shah said that the census of 2017 became controversial. The provisional results attracted widespread criticism. “Almost all the chief ministers, including that of Punjab criticized its results,” he said. ....

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday said that census of 2017 was incorrect as it shows population of the province at 47.8 million whereas as per Unicef survey, it stands at 61.04 million.
If the population of the province is counted at 61.04 million, the share of the province in the national resources would go up from about 24 per cent to 29 per cent, he said while addressing a press conference at CM House. He was accompanied by provincial ministers Nasir Shah, Taimur Talpur and Murtaza Wahab. ....

6,000 families across Fiji are expected to be interviewed in the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey which is designed to assess the situation of children, women and men in the areas of health, education, and child protection.
The survey developed by UNICEF will run till mid-April.
UNICEF says the survey will collect data on health, nutrition, child protection, education, learning skills of children, early childhood development, water, sanitation and hygiene among other topics. ....
