By Takuyaba Dated 6th September 2022 Dear Countrymen, I thank President NNC, President FGN, Speaker Tatar Hoho and their colleagues for inviting me to be here with you on this auspicious Day of the 59th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day observation. I am a primary member of NNC by birth and has every right to participate in NNC activities except restriction to vote in a particular decision. Here, I want to recall the causes of ceasefire between the Government of India and the Federal Government of Nagaland on this Day of 1964. 1.            In fact, the Geography naturally defines its territory and Nagaland is bounded on the north by former Arunachal; in the east by Burma (Myanmar); in the South by Mizoram and on the west by Assam. Nagas are a nation and its freedom is from time immemorial. 2.            However, in 1880, a small part of Naga territory on its western side was subjugated ....

The 58th Naga Peace Day: Remembering Jaya Prakash Narayan

On the 58th year of Peace Day, the JD(U) fondly honour and recall  the Nagaland Baptist Churches Council’s  (NBCC) initiative for Constituting the Peace Mission and reposing faith on our party’s mentor Jaya Prakash Narayan who is loving called as JP. Our party reiterates its commitment to contributing towards lasting peace in Nagaland. The JDU party is built on the foundation of the supreme sacrifices made by its leaders and is proud that its leaders played a prominent role in the struggle against the dictatorship during the JP movement which resulted in the withdrawal of Emergency. Hence, the JD(U) claims the rightful legacy of Jaya Prakash Narayan. JP was one of the first leaders in India to argue about a civilisational unity in India which preceded its political unity. Margaret Anne Shishak laid to rest - Eastern Mirror

Our ReporterDimapur, May 30 (EMN): Margaret Anne Shishak, co-founder of Patkai Christain College (PCC) was laid to rest on Monday, at Patkai Christian College campus, after she breathed her last on May 27. She was 80 years old and is survived by her husband, Rev. Tuisem A Shishak, three sons, three daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren. Margaret was born on November 25, 1941 in Washington, DC, USA, and married Rev. Tuisem A Shishak on August 1970. In 1973, Margaret and Tuisem moved to Nagaland, and in August 1974, the first liberal arts college in the region, PCC was founded. Margaret served as the music director of the college from inception till her last breath. During her funeral service held at Bundrock Auditorium, PCC, condolences messages were delivered by representatives from Board of Trustees,  principal PCC, donor villages, Alumni Association PCC, first batch of music vocational students, Tangkhul Baptist Churches Associations, Tangkhul Hoho and former principal of PCC ....
