A book. It was called drift, the unmooring of American Military power. Its a book about how the use of the American Military basically got divorced over time from civilian politics, from our political decisionmaking process in this country. Not exactly a screaming headline, tabloid topic, i know. But i had something to say about that so i wrote that book. And two things happened when i wrote the book that surprised me.
