Last night she shared a picture of a yummy looking cinnamon roll. She captioned it saying, ‘Thanks @ananyapanday (heart emoji) Nothing like midnight cinnamon rolls.’ Well, we all know that Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter are close friends and it looks like Ananya is close to Ishaan’s family too. Today on the special occasion of Mother’s Day, actor Shahid Kapoor took to his social media handle to share a sweet post for his mother Neliima Azeem. Along with a beautiful throwback picture of the veteran actress, the Kabir Singh star wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day. She is always the wind beneath our wings. Her gaze is loving and forgiving and always sees us as the best version of ourselves. She has nurtured us with so much love that we are capable of passing it on and spreading it into the world. Being the older one by almost 14 years my bond with mom has been very unique, like a friend. And our journey has been beyond words. There is no one who can be you mom.”

Neelima Azim has brought up two sons, who she says 'sparkle', almost single-handedly under different circumstances. Shahid was born to her when she was married to Pankaj Kapur, and Ishaan, when she tied the knot with Rajesh Khatter. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Neelima spoke about not just her two sons but also her daughter-in-law Mira Rajput and grandchildren Misha and Zain. Excerpts:
How did you bring up Shahid?
I was working then and he used to travel with me a lot. He used to sit on the edge of the stage and watch me perform. Like a sponge, he absorbed a lot from my work. Later, I shifted to Mumbai and started getting more acting offers. He stayed with his grandparents, uncles, and aunties, but soon came down to Mumbai to stay with me. It wasn't easy for him to adjust as there he had his uncles, aunts, and cousins all around him. But I am glad about the way that life has shaped up for him. Look at where he is today!

Neelima Azeem has been one of those actresses who have lived her life on her own terms and has also been open about it. She has been appearing in films again after a short hiatus and was recently seen in movies like Dolly, Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and The Illegal. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about her failed marriages with actors Pankaj Kapur and with Rajesh Khattar and what she feels had happened.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, she revealed that the first marriage was like a bump in life that she needed but she never thought something like that could happen. She revealed, "I had this wonderful friend who I got married to, everything was just la-la-la-da-di-da, my parents were wonderful, I had a great crowd around me, toh mujhe ye pata hi nahi tha ke kuch zindagi mein aisa bhi ho sakta hai jisme pav phisal jaye aur hum dup kar ke ghir jaaye (I wasn't aware that one could slip in life and fall flat). Aur rejection ka koi sawaal hi nahi hai (there was no question of rejection) because everybody used to love me and adore me and follow me around. So it was, in that way, when you're young and full of beans, it was the first time when I actually experienced grief, sorrow, rejection, anxiety, pain and fear of the unknown and a whole lot of insecurity."
