9 Apr 2021, 09:25 Genr8 Developments and Japanese funder Kajima have confirmed that the chain will operate a 146-bedroom hotel within the town centre regeneration project, after plans for the second phase were approved yesterday. Rochdale Council voted to grant the joint venture consent for the £70m mixed-use scheme, which features 242 apartments and a 44,000 sq ft office, as well as the Hampton by Hilton hotel. “This is another significant step forward in the wider regeneration of Rochdale,” said Mike Smith, founding partner at Genr8 Developments. “This scheme will deliver high-quality hospitality, living and working space in a sustainable, thriving, and eclectic neighbourhood. Having a major brand such as Hilton as part of the development at this stage is extremely exciting.” ....

The four-building cluster is to be constructed on land off John Street next to the first phase of the town centre regeneration scheme, a 200,000 sq ft retail and leisure complex, that completed last year.
