Among the Trolls by Marianna Spring: A dizzying snapshot of 'Conspiracyland', the world of online trolls that shows no sign of shrinking
On her way into work one day, BBC disinformation and social media correspondent Marianna Spring (28) notices a man has pitched a tent outside New Broadcasting House. He is displaying placards with slogans about the broadcaster allegedly protecting paedophiles and other “complex, confusing and unclear” conspiracies. But soon he’s targeting Spring herself, at one point coming up to her “screaming and shouting”. After he is removed from the location, police find a ‘bladed item’ in his tent.
