Author Kamilah Arteaga, raised in the East Bay Area, discusses the impact of Stanford students on Bay Area gentrification, and vice versa. She writes, "What we do need to do is make things more even. We need those in power (tech companies, political figures, Stanford) to care, and to try. That includes Stanford students, who directly contribute to the wealth gap and housing crisis just by moving into and getting jobs in the Bay."
