Russia investigation and it s really ultimately going to come down to the mueller investigation once it does conclude, does wrap up for folks to be able to look at this. i would just lastly quickly make one point, which is that president trump addressing cpac last night, that was classic campaign-style donald it up. i went to countless political candidate rallies for then candidate donald trump during the first presidential cycle and i can tell you it was a marathon last night. he took an ax, a political ax, so to speak, and bulldozed his way through it. that from my point of view was the official start of the president s 2020 re-election. truthfully. interesting point. speaking of that, nick, i want to get your thoughts on something that the house chair of the judiciary committee jerry nadler had to say. watch this. fellow democrats already say the evidence the president has obstructed justice in the russia investigation is an abuse of power that justice impeachment. so can there ....
Offenses like that that are not crimes? oh, sure. crimes and impeachable offenses are two different things. we have to lay out for the american people, and we can t depend on the mueller investigation for this. the mueller investigation, number one, we don t know when it s ending despite lots of rumors. number two, it s focused on specific crimes. and we have to focus much more broadly. on abuses of power. nick, what s your take on? what are some examples of abuses of power that may not necessarily be crimes but at the same time can be impeachable offenses? there are lots of things it can be. could be the stuff with the payoffs to the women in the southern district of new york. but i think the bottom line is if there is going to be an impeachment proceeding it s going to come not because of a mueller report but because of an indictment bringing together everything that s known about the russian investigation, indicting high people in the administration with respect to the two ind ....
