TRAVERSE CITY — Advocates and policymakers were reminded of the severity of the housing crisis in northern Michigan this week.
Speakers included figureheads in education, environment, state and local governments, and tourism.
Surveys from North Central Michigan College’s Child Care Initiative will ask employers about the type of child care benefits they offer and how often they’ve lost employees due to the crisis.
During the high-spread times of the COVID-19 pandemic, patrons reacted angrily to public health masking and distancing restrictions. Those rules have largely gone away, but some people are still angry at restaurant workers in northern Michigan.
The rules announced Thursday affect 84 million workers nationwide. Combined with other rules, two-thirds of the nation’s workforce must either be vaccinated or face mandatory testing.
