The USS George Washington (CVN-73), a Nimitz-class supercarrier of the United States Navy, has embarked on a significant deployment from Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.
The Ulyanovsk-class carrier, also known as Project 1143.7, was a planned Soviet aircraft carrier that never fully materialized. It was intended to be the largest and most advanced aircraft carrier ever built by the Soviet Union, with a displacement of over 80,000 tons and the capability to carry up to 70 aircraft.
Measuring around 1,000 feet in length with a beam of about 250 feet, the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier displaced 97,000 tons. Her angled flight deck and CATOBAR arrangement enable aircraft to operate off the deck.
