Ontario s Ministry of Transportation is advising of four highway closures in northwestern Ontario on Wednesday morning.
According to the ministry s Ontario 511 website, all closures are due to disabled vehicles.
To the west of Thunder Bay, the eastbound lane of Highway 17 at Sistonens Corners is blocked by disabled tractor trailers. Traffic control is in place.
To the east, there are two ongoing closures in the Nipigon area. ....

THUNDER BAY – Odds of a white Christmas are looking up, as areas across northwestern Ontario faced snowfall and winter storm warnings Tuesday evening.
Flurries were expected to blanket some parts of the region in up to 35 centimetres of snow, with total accumulations of 50 centimetres possible locally along the North Shore and elsewhere.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the City of Thunder Bay, where it expected snow beginning in the late afternoon Tuesday to become heavy at times during the evening, with total amounts of 10 to 20 centimetres expected by Thursday morning. ....

THUNDER BAY Environment Canada s updated weather forecast for the Thunder Bay region indicate there s considerable more snow left in the system that arrived in the area late Tuesday.
By this morning, it had dumped from 10 to 15 centimetres of snow around the city.

Officers, as well as firefighters from Beardmore and Geraldton and Superior North EMS paramedics, were dispatched to the scene on Highway 11, near Postagoni River, at about 1 p.m. Sunday. ....
