LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman for the âPlayer of the Monthâ award following their spectacular performances in the away series against South Africa.
The ICC announced the nominations to recognise the spectacular performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket on Wednesday.
Last month, Azam toppled Indian captain Virat Kohli to become the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world. Azam has 865 points while the Indian skipper has 857. The Pakistan skipper scored 228 runs in the ODI series. ....

The anonymous recipient of a Patrick Gower tribute tattoo was nominated for the job by a mate in Melbourne, who won the free tattoo through a Facebook competition.
The palm-sized portrait of Gower - along with the phrase its the f king news - was inked by Whakatāne tattooist Rich Neilsen on Saturday.
The owner of the new tattoo was given little warning he would soon have the New Zealand celebrity inked on his body, with a friend in Melbourne contacting him to say he had won the competition for a free portrait tattoo. ....

James LeBrecht, co-director of Oscar nominated documentary, Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution wowed on the red carpet at this year s Academy Awards. Instead of wearing a usual black tux, he wore a custom-made navy-blue Gucci ensemble with a black and ivory flower print shift.
While it is expected for Oscar nominees to walk the red carpet in a custom suit, this is unique for LeBrecht. Not only was Crip Camp: A disability Revolution made on a small budget leaving little room for expensive red-carpet looks, but LeBrecht also has spina bifida and is reliant on a wheelchair to get around. ....
