A suspect in the shooting death of a Colbert man early Monday was charged with murder about 16 hours after officers responded to the crime scene, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s investigators identified Deshun Kevon Turner, 24, as the man who shot and killed Fredrick Appling, 53, in front of Appling’s home on Farm Road.
