PORTSMOUTH Southern Ohio Medical Center is hosting a free, virtual career fair for those interested in branching out into a new field. The event will outline the path to becoming a pharmacy technician, which can be navigated in as few as six months. The event is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. The pharmacy tech program is a unique career opportunity because you can go from trainee to Certified Technician in as little as six months. You can also work and get paid as you go. Traineesâ are paid for the shifts they work in pharmacy to fulfill the required hours. Unlike other programs, when you complete the course work you are certified in the state of Ohio and can work anywhere in the state, according to SOMCâs press release. ....
