P2.5-M illegal drugs seized in Bulacan weeklong ops

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan - Some PHP2.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during weeklong simultaneous anti-criminality law force operations (SACLEO) in this province from Aug. 22-28. In a report on Monday, Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, provincial director of Bulacan Philippine National Police (PNP), said the anti-drug operations conducted by different Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEU) of Bulacan police also resulted in the arrest of 115 drug suspects. Cabradilla said confiscated were 36 sachets of shabu, 19 sachets of dried marijuana leaves with a Dangerous Drug Board-estimated value of PHP2,502,263, assorted drug paraphernalia, and buy-bust money. He also said that two felons were arrested during the implementation of the search warrant operations while 50 persons with various offenses were caught by the tracker teams. 495 erring cops dismissed from service in Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - At least 495 police officers in Central Luzon have been dismissed from service due to various infractions since the internal cleansing was initiated in 2016, the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) said on Monday. Brig. Gen. Matthew P. Baccay, PRO3 regional director, said aside from the dismissal from the police service, 536 others were suspended, 55 were demoted, 58 were forfeited of their salaries and 78 were reprimanded. He alsosaid 4,932 cops were exonerated from their administrative cases while the others' cases have yet to be resolved. He said those police officers meted with disciplinary actions were given due process during the duration of the investigation before final decisions were released.
