Montrealers might still be recovering from the most recent snowfall, but don't put away your shovels just yet as we're expected to receive up to 15 centimetres of snow this weekend. The Montreal weather forecast is calling for yet another whiteout this weekend and road conditions will suck big time.
Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for Montreal as the incoming cold front sweeps through the province. The alert was released at 8:00 p.m. on February 2 and is also currently in effect for the Lava area, Longueuil (Varennes area), and Châteauguay (La Prairie area).
It appears as if Mother Nature is sending back-to-back snowstorms in Quebec's direction as the province prepares for yet another snowy weekend. Conditions are shaping up to be pretty intense, to say the least, and considering snowfall is expected to be significant in some areas, road conditions could be particularly difficult.
Don't put those shovels away just yet! Two back-to-back snow storms will hit Quebec the week of January 23 to 29 and conditions are shaping up to be intense. According to The Weather Network, Quebec will feel the effects of a strong jet stream heading north from the United States bringing in strong winds and lots of potential snowfall.
As Montreal braces itself for an incoming polar vortex (yes.polar vortex), we've got one heck of a windy day ahead of us to look out for. Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning for Montreal as winds are expected to reach up to 90km/h by Saturday evening.
