Black Lives Matter: Impact of George Floyd's death in Wales


TODAY marks one year since the murder of George Floyd in the USA.
Mr Floyd s death began protests against racial injustice and inequality all around the world, including in Wales - with one in Newport attended by several thousand people.
It is against this backdrop that the Welsh Government published its draft Race Equality Action Plan last month. The plan, the Welsh Government has said, is intended to improve the lives of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people in Wales through specific actions across devolved policy areas.

Senedd election: Wales' new representatives in 2021


In Powys, Welsh Conservative newcomer
James Evans won the Brecon and Radnorshire seat, turning it blue for the first time in the Senedd s history.

This is the biggest honour of my life and I will do my upmost to stand up for our community and the whole of Wales in the Senedd, he said following the result.
The constituency had been held by the Liberal Democrats for the past 22 years.
Mr Evans added:  Today the people pressed the reset button, they wanted a fresh start in Brecon and Radnorshire, they wanted a new voice to represent them. ....
