New date confirmed for motion of no confidence debate against Speaker of the National Assembly

On Thursday, the National Assembly Programming Committee (NAPC) resolved to reschedule a sitting that will deliberate on the motion of no confidence against the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula for March 22 2023.  Inititally scheduled for March 7 2023, the delay has been attributed to the unavailability of the Cape Town City Hall, where the Assembly usually holds its full physical sittings.

Bolanle Raheem: Nigerian Lawyers, NBA Will Seek N5Billion Compensation For Family, Monitor Trial Of Killer Policeman, Says Adegboruwa

The Lagos branch of the Nigerian Bar Association will monitor the trial of ASP Drambi Vandi, the policeman that shot and killed Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem in Lagos on Christmas Day.  The association will also press for monetary compensation for the family of the deceased by the relevant government agencies. This was disclosed in a press statement released by a Lagos-based lawyer and human rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN.
