Meteorologist bill karen. so tell us about the concern over this tropical storm in. what is the latest on that? there s been a lot of changes overnight, and even this morning, the biggest thing is that we are mostly focus on the florida peninsula over the past couple days. we re talking about the area goes north to south, not so much the panhandle. it appears to be switching. we re turning last with the storms. and hear the latest from the hurricane center. it s a tropical storm, it s only gonna grow from here, i probably only has three or four days to get stronger and stronger and stronger. it may weaken a little bit before it makes landfall sometimes when the winds 18 timeframe, maybe in the just about south of jamaica, not affecting any land areas. let me take you out from the next two days, the hurricane center the strength pretty rapidly, but by the time we get into monday morning, we will start with a category two hurricane approaching western cuba or cause mel, and sometime ....

Slower and farther west, making landfall near the pensacola area late friday. then we take a look at the european model, you re talking midday wednesday, but near the ft. myers area. so, quite a difference here in terms of the spread. and also in terms of rainfall amounts. overall, we re still talking similar widespread rainfall totals of 4 to 6 inches. it s where that bull s-eye of the rainfall goes, that s going to ultimately depend on where this storm makes landfall. again, the european model focusing it more across central florida to see that target point of 8, 10, as much as a foot of rain, whereas when we look at the american model, fred, you have more of that focused on the panhandle and then again along the northern edge of the state rather than center point, which is where the european model is focused. okay. folks are asked to take precautions on the west and east side of florida. nasa has called off a moon rocket launch from kennedy space ....

So currently sitting down in the caribbean, expected to take its track into the gulf of mexico by monday becoming a category 2 storm, with winds expected around 100 miles per hour. tuesday morning, crossing over cuba, now moving as a cat 3. a major hurricane, at 115 miles per hour. the cone widens, as we talked about, there is a lot of uncertainty as to where this system can lie or make landfall. from destin, all the way to key west, expect landfall sometime wednesday into thursday. again, that uncertainty lies where the center is with the storm. so as soon as we find that out, we ll have a better idea as to where landfall will be. the american model friday, 5:00 in the evening, coming into play around the panhandle of florida. but notice that uncertainty. the european wednesday at 2:00 in the afternoon. we ve got that center of the storm off the west coast of florida. ....
