Back out before open water. again, we ve talked about storm surge being the big concern, but also flooding from the water coming down from above you. so as we take a look at the forecast radar, again landfall time still looks like it was between about 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. roughly this morning eastern time. and then the system continues to slide into georgia, you are likely going to have power outages across georgia, south carolina, even north carolina possible as the storm continues to make its way out towards the atlantic as we go through the rest of the day today. you ve already got some of the really heavy bands starting to impact not only the panhandle but also the peninsula. farther to the south there are already several tornado warnings, still one active just to the east of orlando. and we have a tornado watch in effect for a few more hours. an additional one likely to be put out this morning because this area will continue to see tornadoes and also we could be seeing them eventuall ....

Now predicting that this will be an extremely dangerous category four hurricane when it hits the big ben area. also, that means sustained winds of at least 130 miles per, hour or greater. the last time florida was hit by a category four storm it was hurricane ian late last year. that storm was blamed for at least 150 deaths and over hundred billion dollars in damage. mandatory evacuations were ordered in the tampa area, up to the panhandle. the major concern is the life-threatening storm surge, which could bring a rush of water of up to 15 feet deep in some areas. let s turn now to nbc meteorologist michelle grossman who is tracking all of this and we are inching closer as the clock takes landfall, michelle? that s right, frances, we expect that landfall around 8 am this morning as a category four storm. it s a major storm, already in that major category with winds at 120 miles per hour. we have reports already of roads being flooded, sea walls being breached, and that s only going t ....

Heed what local officials are telling you, it is not safe. there are shelters for special needs people, elderly people, people with pets and kids. take your families and get out if officials are telling you to leave because it is not safe and it is unpredictable. no one thought this could be a category 4 and look at it making landfall now. it should weaken by the time it gets to georgia, but we don t know. i have lived them when i was attorney general, the military had to bring us in, because no one could get into the panhandle and mexico beach, it was wiped out because people didn t listen and chose to stay. todd: pam bondi, this is unprecedented, stay safe. best of luck. ....
