MADISON — New changes are coming to all city parks soon such as LED lights on the Strawberry Patch walking trail and upgraded playground equipment at Liberty Village. 

The Arab American Democratic Club released its official endorsements for the April 4, 2023 elections including in the Orland Fire Protection District which includes Orland park, Orland Hills and parts of unincorporated Orland.The AADC has endorsed Matthew G. Rafferty and William Bonnar Jr., because of their extensive experience as First Responders.

Vendors have pulled out of this year’s 12-day event either because of COVID-19 uneasiness, staffing shortages or product-supply chain issues, according to Fair officials. That’s double the amount of vendors that chose to forego the Fair compared with other recent years. Thursday’s opening promises more changes.

Article content The Pembroke Horticultural Society was disappointed recently to see a cement table and bench it had installed at Pansy Patch Park vandalized. The round table and rounded benches, along with a concrete pad for them to sit on, were installed at the park two years ago. A member of the Pembroke Horticultural Society was walking in the park May 17 when he noticed the table had been tipped over and one of the benches was removed from the bases.
