SIR – Fraser Nelson writes that “Britain is paying the deadly price for telling the public to ‘protect the NHS’” (Comment, December 15).

SIR – However laudable the long-term cause of the Just Stop Oil demonstrators may be, their methods are serving only to alienate potential supporters, who are being denied their right to go about their lawful business.

SIR – The polar division within the Tory party is painfully demonstrated in the conflicting aims of the two leadership candidates, neither of whom has demonstrated any of the qualities needed to unify that party.

SIR – I’m always proud to be British, but only on occasions like this Jubilee does it seem other people realise why.

SIR – The intention of returning to imperial measurements (report, May 29) is regressive, irrelevant and unnecessary.
