A total of 25,000 hospital patients were discharged into care homes in a four-week period in March and April last year, which has been blamed in part for seeding coronavirus in those locations.
Motorcyclist killed in crash involving SUV Share Updated: 10:56 AM CST Dec 31, 2020 Share Updated: 10:56 AM CST Dec 31, 2020 A motorcyclist was killed when the bike and an SUV collided, authorities said.A Pearl police officer reported seeing a motorcycle before midnight Wednesday traveling westbound on Highway 80, near Highway 49 going more than 100 mph, city officials said.As the motorcycle sped out of sight, the officer tried to get the tag number, authorities said. As the officer approached the intersection of Highway 80 and Gallatin Street in Jackson, he saw the motorcycle strike a GMC Yukon, according to Greg Flynn, spokesman for the city of Pearl.Jackson police are investigating the crash, Flynn said.
