Utah ski makers Matt Sterbenz, founder of Utah-based 4FRNT Skis, and Pep Fujas, a former professional skier for K2 Skis, use algae-based bioplastics in their products. Based in Berkeley, California, WNDR Alpine’s parent company, Checkerspot, wants to eliminate petroleum-based plastic in American ski manufacturing.
