The state Medical Marijuana Oversight Committee met to discuss concerns over patient and doctor relationship and current issues within the state’s medical marijuana program.
Several people representing dispensaries, manufacturers and growers gave state officials their views at a public hearing Thursday on proposed rule changes for South Dakota's medical cannabis program.
“This business fits their criteria of the ordinance we have in place. We don’t really have any grounds to deny it,” council member Susan Tjarks said of the Flower Shop dispensary.
“The dispensary issues are uncontrollable, and it brings an element into society that is not conducive, I believe, to what the city is planning to do with Main Street,” Don Dahl said at the meeting.
