Israeli actress Gal Gadot said her two daughters think of her as a typical mom, even though she plays superhero and princess of the Amazonians, Diana, in the “Wonder Woman” films. “In reality, I’m the annoying mom who doesn’t let them have enough screen time and says no all the time. I’m that type of person,” she told Conan O’Brien while on his talk show Tuesday. “To them, it’s not like I’m Wonder Woman. Only when there’s friends around I’m still cool, but we’ll see how long that’s gonna last.”

Gal Gadot’s production company has secured the rights to new novel Meet Me in Another Life – and she will star in the lead role. Catriona Silvey’s debut novel published in the US last week (27 April) by HarperCollins follows Thora and Santi, a man and a woman who continue to meet in numerous versions of reality. It will be published in the UK by HarperVoyager later this year on 8 July. Thora had recently fallen in love with another female student, but everything changes when she meets Santi. A tragic accident ends their story prematurely – but this isn’t the last time they meet.

A Fantastic Woman director Sebastián Lelio. Based on the novel by Emma Donoghue, the story is a psychological thriller about a nurse in the 1800s who travels to a small village to look into what might be a medical anomaly or a full-blown miracle.
