San Francisco residents will start seeing five wooden dragon statues across the city as Lunar New Year celebrations kick off.
The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of San Francisco has initiated a public art project featuring five wooden dragon statues placed across the city in honor of the Year of the Dragon. About the statues: The dragons, named Blue and White Porcelain, Heavenly Jade, Ping An, Rainbow and Gold Luck Dragons, were designed by artists Stephanie Tsao, Donna Lau, Qinghui Ji and Steph Mufson. The dragons, each with unique cultural and personal inspirations, will be on display only until March.
