In January 2020 Sylvia Smith fell. In the months following surgery, the formerly spry West Island senior had to find something to keep herself occupied. By October Sylvia and her two daughters, Ethel and Sheryl, had developed a successful recipe for how to respect her limited mobility and to do it together as a mother-and-daughters project. ....

Every good story has a beginning, middle, and an end that takes the reader to a new and unexpected place. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the independent bookstore Librairie Clio in Pointe-Claire Plaza was faced with lots of questions as things began to shut down.
“What will this look like? Will we survive? Will we have to lay people off? We had a million questions and no answers,” recalled store director Sylvie Calder.
