UPDATE: Portage police searching for truck driver in road rage incident, photos released By Will Kriss May 3, 2021 | 4:22 PM PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – UPDATE: Police in Portage have released photos of a truck involved in an alleged road rage incident causing a crash, which took place near the end of March. On March 23, emergency responders were called to U.S. 131 north of I-94 on the crash report. Investigators say the crash occurred following what was reported to be road rage between two vehicles – a gold Honda Accord driven by the victim, and a black Chevy pickup driven by an unknown, heavy-set white male with gray hair and a full beard. ....
Portage police investigating shooting on Colonial Avenue By Will Kriss Apr 21, 2021 3:36 PM PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Police in Portage are investigating a shooting incident that took place on Tuesday. Around 10:15 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Colonial Avenue, where an unidentified vehicle stopped in front of a residence and opened fire. At least 12 shots were heard, and several struck the occupied residence. One round almost hit an occupant inside. Police say this is the second shots fired incident at the same residence. The first incident occurred in November of 2020, but were different individuals living in the home at that time. ....

UPDATE Thursday 2/11/2021 6:25 a.m.: No major updates as of Thursday morning. Police are still on site at the couple’s home on Romence Rd. in Portage. Their son, Nicholas Johnson is in custody and is said to have a lengthy criminal history. He is currently not charged in the disappearance of his parents.
