This forecast is very easy on us for the first day of 2017. Were starting out with temperatures all above freezing. 36 degrees in mount pocono and 43 in philadelphia. Some of the clouds built in overnight kept in a little bit of the warmth from yesterday. So, temperatures didnt slip quite as much as they were supposed to. Thats good news. Things were more comfortable overnight. Still a bit of chill in the air. Atlantic city at 43, dover at 42 and lancaster right now at 41 degrees. So numbers are looking pretty good across the region. Theyll slip just a little this morning but overup we wont see much change until the clouds start to clear. Here are your current wind speeds. Yesterday it was still breezy to windy. Today still going to see some breezy conditions but not as strong as the last two days. So were starting out quite a bit higher. 19 degrees warmer in vineland. 15 dover. And 14 degrees warmer right now in Atlantic City. Heres a look at the actual temperatures on the board. Amounts of snow generally averaging around two inches, a little bit less to the north and the south. Theres also a chance of snow for parts of the area on saturday. Well talk about that storm, too a little bit later. Crews say theyre ready to role when the first flakes start falling. They were pretreating the roads early this afternoon. Thats where nbc Randy Gyllenhaal is live. This is the most snow of the season for most of the road crews. Reporter in the past hour or so, penn dot called in the reinforcement. Contractors will be helping out, making a total of 300 trucks salting the roads into the overnight hours.
