Dissatisfied with Biden's handling of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, a senior US official resigned
A senior official of the U.S. Department of Education resigned in protest because he opposed Biden's handling of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The resigning official is Tariq Habash, a Palestinian-American who previously resigned as a special assistant in the Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development. This is the second Biden administration official to resign for the same reason, reflecting the growing divisions within the Biden administration. In December, some Biden administration staff held a vigil near the White House to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
