The hacker claims the $611 million theft was intended to expose a weakness in Poly Network's system
Poly Network, the cryptocurrency interoperability protocol, says that it has been hacked and more than $600 million in assorted cryptocurrency was stolen.
Ethereum seems to be the most hit crypto due to theft. Hacked assets included $273 million of Ethereum tokens, $253 million in tokens on Binance Smart Chain and $85 million in USDC on Polygon network
Poly Network, a so-called decentralised finance platform that facilitates peer-to-peer transactions, announced the hack on Twitter and posted details of digital wallets to which it said the money was transferred, urging people to blacklist tokens from those addresses.
