Makar Hits Century Mark in St. Louis

Cale Makar continues to put his name toward the top of many National Hockey League records, this time scoring his 100th career point in his 108th game.Makar had two points to reach the milestone, recording a goal and adding an assist in the Colorado Avalanche s 4-3 win against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday at Enterprise Center.He tied Sergei Zubov (108 games in 1993-94) for the sixth-fewest games by a defenseman in NHL history to record 100 career points. The only other blueliners to do it faster were Harry Cameron (88 games in 1921-22), Mark Howe (94 games in 1980-81), Brian Leetch (102 games in 1989-90), Larry Murphy (105 games in 1981-82) and Phil Housley (106 games in 1983-84). ....

Avs Finish Trip With Full-Team Effort

On its first trip to the East Coast in over a year and a half, the Colorado Avalanche battled in its final outing of a three-game journey to go 1-2-0 on the road swing.Colorado finished the trip with a 4-3 shootout win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Saturday. Gabriel Landeskog netted the first goal of the game and after that, the Avs and Bolts alternated markers and were tied three different times during the contest before Cale Makar scored the decisive marker in the shootout.Nathan MacKinnon factored on all three Avalanche goals in regulation while Landeskog had a multi-point effort and the third member of that forward trio, Mikko Rantanen, also found the back of the net. The Colorado Avalanche s top line got the team started but the squad s depth used that as momentum as the Avs went on to pick up a 5-4 victory against the Minnesota Wild.
