The farmer union leaders urged the government to remove the barricades put by the Delhi police at the Ghazipur border for a smooth passage of oxygen carrier vehicles. The statement came days after owners of some oxygen production plants at Modinagar cited delay in delivery in Delhi as the road is blocked by the protesting farmers.
“Let us be very clear, here at Ghazipur, we have not blocked the road. It is still open from our side. We are camping only on roadside and each emergency vehicle is allowed to pass. It is the responsibility of the police to remove the barricades they have put and let the oxygen carrier vehicles enter Delhi,” said Prabal Pratap Shahi, spokesperson, Bharatiya Kisan Union Asali (BKU Asali) and member Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

Is aandolan men Hindustan hai; Hindustani bane raho; Hindu-Musalma mein mat batna (India is participating in this movement; continue to be an Indian; don’t fall into the trap of Hindu-Muslim divide),” Mahendra Singh Chaudhary, district president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budha Nagar, asked the youth from the stage at the Ghazipur border protest amid thunderous applause from the huge crowd.
