On January 14, 2021, days before a change in presidential administrations, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a plan to publish Practice Guidelines for the Administration of Buprenorphine for Treating Opioid Use Disorder “pursuant to 21 USC §823(g)(2)(H)(i)(II),” a provision of the Drug Addiction and Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000).
