French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte were branded 'shameful' after a publication claimed they had spent £541,000 on flowers during the pandemic.
The news emerged when Political publication Politis claimed the couple spent €600,000 (£540,709) on blooms for Elysee Palace, their official residence in Paris, last year.

The alleged numbers means their flower budget was nearly five times bigger than that of their predecessors Francois Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy.
